Income Maintenance Caseworker II, Adult and Children Medicaid Program

SALARY: IMC I Reg Rate: $33,244.56

IMC II Reg Rate: $36,165.96

DUTIES:

This Income Maintenance Caseworker will be assigned to administer the eligibility process in Adult Medicaid and sub-programs. Included are MAA, MAB, MAD, MQB, Crisis/LIEAP Programs. The primary purpose of this caseworker is to determine eligibility for recertification of the Adult Medicaid programs. This worker is responsible for interviewing, investigating, and processing recertification timely for Adult Medicaid, maintaining a private living Adult Medicaid caseload, processing expert SSI reviews and case maintenance for SSI cases. Applicant must possess excellent computer skills sufficient to use NC FAST, North Carolina’s online case management system as well as various other search engines and software programs. Must have knowledge of policy and procedures related to eligibility, determination and re-determination as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills to communicate with people from diverse backgrounds and educational levels.


MINIMUM EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:


Graduation from an accredited associate degree program in Human Services Technology, Social Services Associate, Paralegal Technology, Business Administration, Secretarial Science, or a closely related curriculum; or graduation from high school and two years of paraprofessional, clerical, or other public contact experience which included negotiating, interviewing, explaining information, gathering and compiling of data, analysis of data and/or performance of mathematical or legal tasks with at least one year of such experience being in an income maintenance program; or graduation from high school and three years of paraprofessional, clerical or other public contact experience which included negotiating, interviewing, explaining information, the gathering and compiling of data, the analysis of data and/or the performance of mathematical or legal tasks; and one year of experience as an Income Maintenance Caseworker; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Must be able to participate in shelter duty. Ability to speak Spanish preferred.
