Processing Assistant III

SALARY: Regular Rate - $33,858.00

DUTIES:

This position performs a variety of office and/or technical tasks to accomplish the specialized processing of information, documents or materials. Major duties include document completion, verification, problem identification and resolution; statistical, financial, and/or other record keeping; public contact including receiving and providing information and problem-solving; files maintenance and management; composition, calculation, and determination of an action or compliance; and office equipment operation. Work may require the use of a variety of manual or automated office systems. These systems are used to establish, retrieve, verify, research, update and/or authorize processing actions. Other duties include typing of letters, court summaries, contact sheets, data entry/processing of forms into our state system, prints reports from both our state system and NC Fast, daily mail duty and scanning information to appropriate worker, processes AOC checks (Criminal Records Checks), assigns client ID numbers, orders state forms, receives payments for agency services, filing of inactive records, pulling, purging and processing records for off-site storage and with the use of the buddy system lifting 20 gallon totes full of records weighing 65-70 pounds. This position relieves the front desk and performs other duties as assigned. Must participate in shelter duty.


MINIMUM EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

Graduation from high school and demonstrated possession of knowledge, skills and abilities gained through at least one year of office assistant/secretarial experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

Good organizational skills and ability to type official documents accurately. Ability to deal effectively, tactfully and courteously with the public, working knowledge of personal computers and office applications – Microsoft Office and Excel a must, as well as some general knowledge of network operations and accounting. Ability to sort information and record accurately. Ability to speak Spanish preferred
