Social Worker II - Work First Services

DESCRIPTION OF WORK:
Employee is responsible for assisting recipients of Work First Cash Assistance to become economically self-sufficient through employment and for preventing the need for Cash Assistance through assessment and delivery of supportive services. Services may be delivered at DSS, in the client's home and community. Maintains 200% caseload and assist Non-Custodial parents seek employment. Participates with community collaboration groups and activities. In addition, this position can assist Child Protective Services and Adult Protective Services with taking reports of allegation of abuse, neglect, or exploitation. Lastly, this position will serve as a services support person since they will need to be familiar with services offered at the Dept. of Social Services and throughout the community. Participates in the agency's after hours on-call system and shelter duty.
MINIMUM EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited school of social work and two years of social work experience; other combinations of a bachelor's degree in a human services curriculum and work experience considered. Valid Driver's License. Ability to speak Spanish highly desirable. May consider applicants who do not meet full qualifications; such applicants would begin at one of the other social work classes listed above based on education and experience with salary commensurate with classification.
