At this time our office has decided to close our lobby to the public and operate by appointments only! You will need to report all changes and continue submitting documentation using our drop box, email, fax or US mail. However, if you need to conduct business in the office please call ahead of time. Remember we are still open and here to serve you! We ask that everyone works together to practice social distancing to keep us all safe. What We Do

Caswell County Section (8) Housing provides rental assistance to low income individuals and families in the private rental market through the Housing Assistance Payments Program.

Rental Voucher Holders select a unit from the private rental market. Rental assistance makes market rate housing affordable. Program participants normally pay no more than 30% of monthly adjusted income towards rent and utilities.  The Housing Assistance Payment subsidizes the balance of the rent to the property owner.


Attention Participants:

Please be sure to remember the "5" day rule. Income is money or any other gain received for the purpose of an individual's family's well being. It must be reported in writing to the office within 5 days of hire date and/or receiving of income.

Attention Landlords:


Caswell County Section 8 Housing would like to offer you the chance to take advantage of our landlord incentives and add your property to our Section 8 Program. We offer quick turnaround times on the lease up, Direct Deposit Payment, Courtesy Inspections, one on one assistance, and qualified Pre-Screened tenants.

Recently the demand for housing has amplified and our agency is trying to acquire new property to add to our vacant landlord listing. With every year that goes by we do our best to serve more low income families in our county with decent, safe, and sanitary housing. We need your help to locate housing for the participants who have been qualified for our program. Should you have any property or know someone that may have property that would like to add to our Section 8 program please give us a call. We appreciate all your support!



If you are interested in Porting to CCS8 please have your Housing Specialist send over your households information to be reviewed. Documentation should be sent to CCS8 via:

Once we have received the information you will be contacted  to schedule your Portability Interview. 

If you are a CCS8 Participant and wish to port out to another agency, you will need to contact the office to verify you are eligible to Port Out and set an appointment to have the proper paperwork completed.
